Welcome to September

Where did the last 2 months go? One day I am in Boerne with Jay interviewing for a YM job, then....POOF! It's the middle of September! We have heard nothing from Boerne, but we did hear from Enid....they hired someone else.
I'm not discouraged. OK, well, maybe I am. A little. No. OK, I'm not. I didn't want to move to Oklahoma, really.
Did you ever feel like you were the last to find out about something that everyone else had been aware of forever? I feel like that now.
We went to school for a long time to be "qualified"(whatever that means...) to minister to youth and their families. Now we graduate and then all of the sudden we are discovering that all those churches who were desperate for Y&F ministers aren't so desperate after all. Or at least they aren't desperate for us. Each job we have applied for looks great at first. We are welcomed in with open arms and told we are just what they are looking for and then, BOOM! "Oh, you have been divorced....uh, well, uh....we have a few other guys we are looking at....uh...we'll call you..." UUUGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
That is what I am discouraged about. The total lack of grace exhibited by the leadership of these churches is just totally astounding to me. Either we believe as a Body that Christ's blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness or we don't. Have any of these men read 1 John 1:7-10. You know, the Bible states very clearly that Christ is faithful to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.......so, how much is ALL?
Evidently there are brethren in our congregations who believe that God was just exagggggerrating with that verse! Forgive me. I've gone to preaching.
New topic....
The kids are doing well. I am keeping Brittany & Breanna home with me this year and we are homeschooling. It is totally wonderful. Brady is a senior at Coronado. He is having the usual frustration with the band program there. I think he may have just about had his fill.....
Josh is doing OK in 2nd grade. His teacher has banned all Hot Wheels and all Legos. I hope she lets them keep their crayons. I guess the markers are next. We don't want total anarchy, do we? This "no Legos" business is driving Josh crazy. He is a builder like his daddy. Such is life.
I have rambled on long enough.
Just a heads up though.....Mission work may be our next avenue. I'll keep you posted.
